Ward Volunteers

There are 25 wards, which need volunteers Monday - Friday. Volunteers are needed to give drinks to patients , provide a listening ear and chat with the patients, making their stay in hospital a little more comfortable. This is a great help to the staff but is particularly appreciated by the patients. Many are lonely and anxious and a friendly smile and chat makes a tremendous difference to their stay in a large district hospital. These duties are generally covered in one and a half to two hours.
