Clinic Volunteers

Volunteers help in various clinics around the hospital serving drinks to patients providing a listening ear to anyone who may be anxious about their treatment. Monday – Friday – various times between 9-5pm) - various days are needed.

Pain Clinic: This clinic is for patients having treatment for severe pain – this often means an injection, which means the patient, has to lie down for an hour or more. Volunteers give these patients a drink and chat to them.

Fracture Clinic: Volunteers act as guides on the Fracture Clinic taking patients to and from the clinic to X-ray and other departments of the hospital as well as serving drinks to those waiting.

Oncology Clinic: This clinic is for patients receiving chemotherapy and radiotharapy. Volunteers serve drinks and provide a listening ear if patients want to talk.

Audiology: Volunteers are needed to help test the hearing aids, make minor repairs - full training will be given and also to input data onto the computer.
