Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees comprises Chairman Mike Roy, Vice Chairman Gwen Stoaling, Treasurer Barry Cooper, Membership Secretary June Weir and 7 volunteer Trustees.

Staff members from various wards and departments regularly come to the Friends of the RUH to request financial support in areas the hospital is unable to fund. This can range from equipment or patient amenities such as relatives rooms or refurbishments of wards to arts and crafts supplies for the Children’s ward. A Trustee is assigned a request which they thoroughly investigate to decide if the proposed project is going to benefit patients and the money well spent.

The Trustees meet monthly to discuss any requests that have come in and make the decisions about where the funds are spent. Hospital representatives are also present at these meetings to discuss and advise on requests

Teri Florance Clerk to the Board of Trustees, receives all the applications for requests and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact her on 01225 824046.

We are currently looking for people with expertise or interest in legal or accounting work to join the board of Trustees. If you are interested in finding out more please contact Mike Roy or Gwen Stoaling 01225 824046.
